MAURITIUS is a paradise island and one of my favorite places in the world. I stayed at a hotel near the Le Morne mountain, which is depicted in this painting. I created this artwork using "unreal" colors – because even though I’ve visited many times, this place feels like a dream to me.

There, I felt detached from everyday life. As if I had been transported to another reality.

The mountain towering over the hotel reminds us of how small our human dreams and needs are compared to the immensity of nature.
